Dr. Bavani A/P Arumugam @ Seiyalu is a Senior Lecturer (DS13) at the Centre for the Promotion of Knowledge and Language Learning (PPIB), Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia. She has extensive experience in higher education, particularly in Tamil language teaching, language education, linguistics, Tamil grammar, and educational innovation. She currently serves as a program coordinator at PPIB. Dr. Bavani holds a PhD in language education, a master's degree in linguistics, and a Bachelor of Arts degree, with her academic background centered on language and education. She has held various academic and professional positions, including Senior Lecturer at Universiti Malaysia Sabah, Lecturer at Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris, Tutor, Part-time Lecturer at Universiti Malaya, and Editor. Her teaching experience includes Tamil Language Levels I, II, and III, covering different stages of Tamil language learning at the university level. Her research interests focus particularly on Tamil language education, linguistics, language learning, Tamil literature, and innovative approaches to language teaching.
