Puan Azniza Binti Mahyudin

Azniza Binti Mahyudin is a lecturer in Conservation Biology at Faculty of Tropical Forestry at Universiti Malaysia Sabah. She graduated from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Bangi Selangor with two of her degrees: master’s in environmental management, majoring in Environmental Impact Assessment and ISO 14000 Environmental Management, also Bachelor Science (Hons) in Conservation Biology and Ecology, with a major in Zoology. This led her interest and expertise in Wildlife Management, Biological Pest Control and Natural Resource Management. Currently, Azniza is pursuing her PhD. in Biotechnology in Universiti Malaysia Sabah, emphasizing zoonotic disease, epidemiology, and genetic conservation of wildlife. Previously, she received training in molecular ecology studies at Cardiff University that developed her skill in Diagnostic DNA. She has a broad interest in Biodiversity Assessment, including pathogenic virus and bacteria studies and biological pest control, which in the end contribute to wildlife wellness, public health, and epidemiology. Azniza works in various projects, from Biodiversity Assessment (Small Mammals), Pathogenic Virus and Bacteria Screening, Animal Population Genetics, Wildlife Management and Rural Poverty Alleviation, which her first involvement with Tudan's Mulberry Project, which also her recent interest in the empowerment of local communities in Sabah.
