Profesor Madya Ir. Dr. Habib Musa Bin Mohamad

Fakulti Kejuruteraan, UMS

Associate Professor Ir. Ts. Dr. Habib Musa Bin Mohamad is a distinguished academic and professional engineer specializing in civil engineering, with expertise in geotechnical engineering, construction materials, structural analysis, and project management. He currently serves as a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), where he contributes significantly to both teaching and research. With a strong foundation in academia and industry, he has established himself as a leading expert in his field.

Dr. Habib is a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) under the Civil Engineering discipline and a Professional Technologist (P.Tech) specializing in Building and Construction Technology (BC). His extensive experience in the private sector, particularly in development and construction industries, has equipped him with practical insights that enhance his academic work. His industry background includes working with reputable private firms, where he gained hands-on experience in construction management, infrastructure development, and geotechnical engineering applications.

He began his academic journey at Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM), where he obtained his Bachelor of Civil Engineering (B.Eng. Hons.) in 2012. His passion for advancing knowledge in the field led him to pursue a Master’s in Civil Engineering (M.Eng.) with a specialization in Geotechnical Engineering, which he completed in 2015. In April 2019, he earned his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Civil Engineering from UTHM, further solidifying his expertise in the discipline.

As an active researcher, Dr. Habib has published numerous high-impact journal articles and conference papers, contributing valuable insights into geotechnical and structural engineering. His work is widely cited and indexed in major academic databases, reflecting its significance in the field. His research interests include geotechnical engineering (soil behavior, slope stability, and foundation design), construction materials (sustainable materials and performance optimization), structural engineering (advanced analysis and design of structures), and project management (effective strategies in engineering project execution).

Beyond academia, Dr. Habib is actively involved in engineering consultancy, professional training, and advisory roles, bridging the gap between theoretical research and real-world engineering applications. His credentials and affiliations with engineering regulatory bodies further reinforce his standing as a respected engineer, educator, and researcher. Through his contributions to academia, industry, and professional development, he continues to play a pivotal role in advancing civil engineering knowledge and practice in Malaysia and beyond.
