Fakulti Kewangan Antarabangsa Labuan, UMS

Dr. Mohd Ashari Bin Bakri is a distinguished researcher at Fakulti Kewangan Antarabangsa Labuan, University Malaysia Sabah. Their research focuses on corporate governance, financial market development, dividend policy, information asymmetry, and stock market liquidity, which he now approaches through the lens of ESG, Shariah governance, and fintech innovation.

He has held key academic leadership roles, notably serving as the Head of Programme for International and Offshore Banking from 2022 to 2025. Deeply engaged in both global governance frameworks and professional development, he also serves as a Research Fellow at Earth System Governance and is an HRD Accredited Trainer.

In his research, he examines how governance structures and disclosure quality shape investor confidence and how sustainable finance instruments like sukuk and green bonds drive market development. Furthermore, he investigates how dividend policies signal ESG commitment, how digital platforms and transparency mechanisms mitigate information asymmetry, and how ESG index inclusion and compliance reforms influence market liquidity. This integrated perspective seamlessly bridges complex finance puzzles with sustainability and policy relevance, ensuring both methodological rigor and practical impact.
