Dr. Tuan Norbalkish Tuan Abdullah is a Senior Lecturer in Counseling at the Faculty of Psychology and Social Work, Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS). She holds a Ph.D. in Counseling, a Master of Science in Counseling, and a Bachelor of Counseling (Hons). She currently serves as the Coordinator of the Master of Psychology Counseling Program at UMS and as the Program Coordinator for the Master and PhD in Counselling by Research programs. In addition, she has been appointed by the faculty to spearhead the development of these new research-based counselling programs.
Her primary research interests include HIV counseling, public health, and social support systems. She is the principal investigator of a Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS) project funded by the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia, focusing on behavioral counseling for HIV prevention among youth in Sabah. In this capacity, she actively collaborates with key stakeholders, including the Jabatan Kesihatan Negeri Sabah (JKNS).
Dr. Tuan Norbalkish is also a sought-after speaker and trainer in various programs related to mental health, drug prevention, and HIV awareness. She has published articles in high-indexed journals, particularly in the field of HIV counseling.
Dr. Tuan Norbalkish Binti Tuan Abdullah holds Doktor Falsafah (Ph.D) from Universiti Malaysia Terengganu , among other qualifications, and has established themselves as a respected expert in their field.
