Dr. Tuan Norbalkish Tuan Abdullah is a Senior Lecturer in Counseling at the Faculty of Psychology and Social Work, Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS). She holds a Ph.D. in Counseling and currently serves as the Coordinator of the Master of Psychology (Counseling) Programme, as well as the Coordinator of the Master of Counselling by Research and Ph.D. in Counselling. She has also played a leading role in the development and establishment of these research-based counselling programmes at UMS.
Her areas of expertise and research include HIV counseling, public health, social support systems, and psychological well-being. She serves as the Principal Investigator of a research project funded under the 2024 Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS) by the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia, focusing on the development of a behavioral counseling approach for HIV prevention among youth in Sabah. Through this project, she collaborates with various stakeholders, including the Sabah State Health Department (JKNS).
Dr. Tuan Norbalkish is also actively involved as a speaker and trainer in programmes related to counseling, mental health, drug prevention, and HIV awareness. She has published in internationally indexed journals, including Scopus and Web of Science (WoS), particularly in the areas of HIV counseling and psychosocial well-being.
Dr. Tuan Norbalkish Binti Tuan Abdullah holds Doktor Falsafah (Ph.D) from Universiti Malaysia Terengganu , among other qualifications, and has established themselves as a respected expert in their field.
