Abentin Estim is an Associate Professor at Borneo Marine Research Institute, Universiti Malaysia Sabah. Specialized in Integrated Multitrophic Aquaculture Systems (IMTA) and marine pollution. He has developed several new designs of low-carbon integrated aquaculture modules. He has significantly contributed to inculcating entrepreneurship skills in students. Among other research projects, he is also leading the research program on Integrated Multitrophic Aquaculture and water quality remediation under the Niche Research Grant Scheme of the Education Ministry. He has a growing number of research publications. He also pursues an interest in marine ecosystem management, especially in controlling the problem of plastic waste through research and public awareness. In addition to his professional duties at Universiti Malaysia Sabah, he is also involved in the accreditation of academic programmes as a Senior panel assessor of the Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA).
Profesor Madya Dr. Abentin Bin Estim holds Ijazah Doktor Falsafah (Akuakultur) from Universiti Malaysia Sabah , among other qualifications, and has established themselves as a respected expert in their field.
