Dr. Daron is an applied linguist and English language practitioner whose work sits at the intersection of language, discourse, and social meaning. He has taught English language and linguistics at universities in Australia, Thailand, Singapore, and Malaysia, delivering courses in both academic and communicative English, as well as undergraduate and postgraduate-level linguistics.
His research spans classroom-based and discourse-oriented inquiries, with a particular focus on teacher–student interaction and the ecological dimensions of language learning. His work also engages with how language constructs and mediates social realities, including issues of identity, representation, and belonging. His recent research also explores interculturality, multilingual practices, and the role of local contexts in shaping language use and learning.
