My passion for research in the fields of forest ecology, plant taxonomy and phylogeny and my numerous publications make me the perfect candidate for this teaching position. My MSc and PhD projects on fern diversity and systematics in tropical montane forests demonstrate my expertise in designing, conducting and analyzing impactful forest ecology research. In addition to research, I am keen to support future ecologists. My experience as a demonstrator in the lab has awakened my passion for mentoring students. I view research mentoring as an important form of guidance and strive to empower graduate students to develop original research, methods, and effective communication skills.
