Prof. Ts. Dr. Rodeano Bin Roslee

Prof. Ts. Gs. Dr. Rodeano Roslee, PGeol., FIGM is an engineering geology and geological disaster professor at the Faculty of Science and Natural Resources, Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS). He is currently serving as Deputy Dean (Research and Innovation)-FSSA, Former Director of the Natural Disaster Research Center (NDRC), UMS, a Board Member of, Malaysian Board of Geologists (BoG) and a Member of the Disaster Risk Reduction Research Alliance (Academy of Sciences Malaysia). He holds a PhD in Geological Disasters from the National University of Malaysia (UKM), a BSc (Honours) in Geology and an MSc (Research) in Engineering Geology from UMS as well as a Diploma in Civil Engineering from Polytechnic Kuching Sarawak (PKS). His career began at the Department of Minerals and Geosciences Malaysia (Sabah state branch). Then he worked as a university lecturer at UMS since 2004 until now.

Prof. Dr. Rodeano is an active member of more than 10 national and international professional organizations. His research interests and specializations are in the field of Natural Disaster Risk Management and Reduction (landslides, earthquakes, tsunamis and floods), engineering geology, geotechnical engineering and environmental geology. In addition, he is currently active as a technical advisor for several corporate companies and government agencies in Malaysia, especially in the field of landslide and geological disaster studies. He is also the Editor-in-Chief of the Geological Behavior Journal (GBR) and Malaysian Journal of Geosciences (MJG) and is often invited as a referee for several leading journals.

Prof. Dr. Rodeano has published more than 95 technical papers in local and international journals, 130 papers in local and international proceedings and 7 books. At the same time, he is currently conducting and has completed more than 20 research grants totaling more than RM 1,750,000.00 and is involved with several consulting projects.
