Having always been fond of animals, I started my life journey in this path in Universiti Putra Malaysia, with my foundation study. Fast forward 10 years later, with a first degree in Animal Science and a doctorate degree in Animal Nutrition, I returned to my beloved nation, Sabah. Time passes so fast that in a blink of an eye, it has been 8 long years that I have been with Faculty of Sustainable Agriculture, UMS Sandakan. As a fresh graduate when I first joined, to who I am today professionally today, I truly have enjoyed the process of maturing into this career path. Teaching and learning activities are surely more intense in a comprehensive university, requiring lecturers to be well verse in teaching pedagogy, planning for teaching activities and materials, and documentation. Research, publications and supervision are surely more challenging, yet I have the opportunity to lead several research grants, supervising and graduating few excellent students, while still be able to publish locally and internationally peer-reviewed journals in my field of expertise. This career path also have given me the challenge to hold several administrative position such as postgraduate coordinator and the head of program, which has expose me to various experiences in audits, accreditations, leaderships and administrative responsibilities. In my career journey, I also had the chance to be involved with external organizations, the communities and stakeholders, where I was invited to speak and share of my knowledge and experiences, and get involved with the groundworks of industry. Nevertheless, in a nutshell, I am an academic, a researcher and an animal scientist.
