Professor Madya Dr. Mori Bin Kogid

Dr. Mori Kogid is currently working as an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Business, Economics and Accountancy, Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) since 2024 after serving for about 12 years as a Senior Lecturer since 2012 and 9 years as a lecturer since 2003 at the same faculty. His research interests include Applied (Financial) Econometrics, Financial Economics, Development Economics, Energy Economics, Tourism Economics, Economics of Crime, Economic Modelling, and Modelling Time-Series Econometrics. He has published more than 60 research articles in refereed journals both local and international such as Energy, Sustainability, Applied Economics Letters, Quality & Quantity, International Journal of Financial Studies, Economies, Economics Bulletin, Cuadernos de Economia, International Journal of Energy Economics and Policy, Tourismos, The Social Sciences, ASEAN Economic Bulletin, The IUP Journal of Applied Economics, The IUP Journal of Financial Economics, The Empirical Economic Letters, Economics Research International, China-US Business Review, Journal of Applied Finance and Banking, Journal of Global Business & Economics, Advances in Management & Applied Economics, International Journal of Emerging Sciences, Asian Journal of Empirical Research, International Journal of Business and Management, Economics and Finance Review, Interdisciplinary Journal of Research in Business, International Journal of Management Studies, Jurnal Pengurusan, Jurnal Ekonomi Malaysia, Journal of Economics and Policy (INTAN), BIMP-EAGA Journal for Sustainable Tourism Development, and Malaysian Journal of Business and Economics.

He is currently a member with Malaysian Finance Association (MFA), Malaysia Institute of Statistics (ISM) and Malaysian Econometrics Association (PEM) and a former member of the International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE) and East Asian Economic Association (EAEA). He is also appointed as a reviewer for a number of journals both local and international such as Journal of Cleaner Production, Marine Policy, Kybernetes, Utilities Policy, Journal of Economic Growth, Journal of Business Economics and Management, International Journal of Islamic and Middle Eastern Finance and Management, Discrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, Frontiers in Public Health, Quality & Quantity, EconomiA, Cogent Economics and Finance, International Journal of Energy Sector Management, Journal of Applied Economics, Economics Bulletin, Jurnal Ekonomi Malaysia and Jurnal Pengurusan.

In terms of administrative work, he has been the Head of the Financial Economics Program, Faculty Core Course Coordinator and PLUMS Undergraduate Coordinator at the Faculty of Business, Economics and Accountancy.
