Dr. Nur Suhaidah Sukor is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Education and Sport Studies, Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS). She brings a wealth of experience from her previous roles as a secondary school teacher at SMK Sandakan (2011–2018) and SMK Likas (2018–2021), followed by her appointment as Penolong Pengarah at the Sektor Pembelajaran, Jabatan Pelajaran Negeri Sabah in 2021. In April 2021, she joined UMS as an academician, where she continues to contribute significantly to education research and innovation.
She holds a Ph.D. in Science Education from Universiti Malaysia Sabah and specializes in science education and early childhood science learning. Her research focuses on innovative pedagogical approaches, particularly in STEM education for young learners. She has received multiple awards for her educational innovations, including a Silver Medal at the Malaysian Technology Expo (MTE 2021) for her STEM Module: Food & Beverage for Preschoolers and a Gold Medal at MTE 2022 for Early Childhood Learning via STEM Module. Additionally, her Game Board: Animals in Sabah earned her another Gold Medal at PEREKA UMS 2022. Most recently, she represented PPIP UMS and secured a Bronze Medal at MTE 2024. Beyond her research, she actively engages in consultancy projects related to science education, early childhood learning, data analysis, and quantitative research methodologies. Her passion for fostering early literacy has led her to author seven picture books, published by UMS Publisher, which serve as valuable resources for young learners.
As a committed academic, she serves as a peer reviewer for several reputable journals, including Journal of Educational Research (Scopus-indexed), Journal of Research in Childhood Education (Scopus), Southeast Asia Early Childhood Journal (MyCite), Journal of Southeast Asia Psychology (MyCite), and Jurnal Penyelidikan Pendidikan (Ministry of Education Malaysia). Her contributions to research, teaching, and educational innovation highlight her dedication to advancing knowledge and improving learning outcomes in science and early childhood education. Through her multidisciplinary expertise, she has established herself as a respected scholar and innovator, making significant contributions to academia and the broader educational community.
