Dr. Zykamilia Kamin, with a distinguished academic background, holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Universiti Malaysia Sabah, showcasing her deep expertise in nanofiber synthesis for hydrocarbon oil-water and heavy metals adsorption. She is a faculty member for the Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Malaysia Sabah, focusing on oil and gas programmes. Recently, Dr. Zykamilia Kamin received accolades at the national level from the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation for her work on nanofiber production for hydrocarbon oil-water and heavy metal adsorption for oil spills in a marine environment.
Apart from nanofibers synthesis, Dr. Zykamilia Kamin is currently involved in nanoemulsion production for enhanced oil recovery for matured wells, sustainable IR 4.0 green technologies process development involving food processing, oil and gas processing, palm oil processing, water processing, and wastewater processing involving pesticide and antibiotic removal. Before joining the Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Malaysia Sabah, Dr. Zykamilia Kamin trained oil and gas attached trainees of multinational industry, focusing on the production and process discipline. Dr. Zykamilia Kamin was also involved in developing a system to produce hollow fiber polymeric kaolin membranes subsequently study the relationship nexus between production condition and characteristic of the hollow fiber polymeric kaolin hollow fiber membranes.
