Professor Madya Dr. Evan Quah Seng Huat is a distinguished researcher at Institut Biologi Tropika Dan Pemuliharaan, University Malaysia Sabah. Their research focuses on I am a herpetologist who studies amphibians and reptiles in Malaysia and Southeast Asia. It has been over a decade now that I have been involved in this field, and my research interest is in the taxonomy, diversity, speciation and phylogeography of herpetofauna in this region. Among the ecosystems that my team and I take special interest in are montane and karst ecosystems that harbour high levels of endemism among their amphibians and reptiles. Apart from working locally in Malaysia, I also, collaborate on research projects and conduct field work in neighboring countries in the surrounding region such as China, Singapore, Cambodia and Myanmar. In the past decade, my colleagues and I have discovered more than 50 species of amphibians and reptiles that were new to science around the region. .
As a member of Institut Biologi Tropika Dan Pemuliharaan, they contribute significantly to the academic and research community at UMS through their expertise and dedication to advancing knowledge in their field.
