Profesor Madya Ts. Dr. Nor Azizun Binti Rusdi

Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Nor Azizun Rusdi, is a plant biotechnologist and researcher well known for her contribution to the application of plant tissue culture to rare and endangered orchids, crops, and herbal plants in Malaysia. She has been working for 16 years in research and teaching in biochemistry, plant physiology, application of tissue culture, natural product chemistry, and instrumentation methods at the Institute for Tropical Biology and Conservation and Faculty of Tropical Forestry, Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS). She started her primary school at Sek. Keb Padang Luas, Terengganu, then continued her high school at Sek. Men. Agama Saniah, Kelantan, from Form 1 until Form 3 and completed her Form 5 at Sek. Men. Agama Maahad Muhammadi Perempuan, Kelantan. She completed her first degree in biochemistry with second-class honours at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). Later, she furthered her master’s degree from the same university in plant biotechnology. She obtained her Ph.D. in systems biology from the University Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Malaysia, in 2018. Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Nor Azizun Rusdi is an active academic leader involved in teaching and supervising final-year projects and postgraduate students. She has published numerous scientific papers in international refereed journals and conference proceedings. She currently executes her research project in plant functional genomics, plant tissue culture of wild orchids, and natural product studies from medicinal plants
