I am a molecular evolutionary biologist and veterinary scientist who uses bats as the main study organism and am based in Malaysia Borneo. Trained in resource biotechnology, my MSc. involves the use of morphology and molecular means to study bats' phylogeny. Meanwhile, my Ph.D. work involves the development of recombinant DNA phage-displaying antibodies to the M2e protein on the avian influenza virus, and the development of ELISA-based methods to differentiate between virus-infected animals and vaccinated animals. My current research interest includes bats systematics using morphology and molecular to observe the effect of habitat fragmentation and biogeographical barrier on bats' evolution. I am also currently involved in projects which screen for parasites in primates and potential zoonotic viruses from bats.
