Dr. Siti Fatimah Binti Md Isa

Dr. Siti Fatimah Md Isa is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Tropical Forestry, Universiti Malaysia Sabah, specializing in plant conservation, orchid diversity, ethnobotany, and biodiversity research in Borneo. Her academic career focuses on documenting, conserving, and promoting the sustainable use of tropical plant diversity, particularly rare, endemic, and threatened species in Sabah. She has actively led and contributed to research projects on orchid conservation, ultramafic and limestone flora, ethnobotanical knowledge, and forest biodiversity assessment. Her work integrates field-based taxonomy, ecological assessment, conservation planning, and community-based knowledge documentation. She has secured and contributed to national, private, and international research grants, and has published scientific works in plant diversity, orchid conservation, and ethnomedicinal studies. Beyond research, Dr. Siti Fatimah is committed to teaching, postgraduate supervision, curriculum development, academic service, and international collaboration. She has also represented Malaysia as an orchid specialist under the IUCN Species Survival Commission Orchid Specialist Group, Asia Subgroup. Her contributions reflect a strong commitment to biodiversity conservation, scientific advancement, and academic leadership.
