Dr. Rafidah Bt Md Salim

Rafidah Md. Salim is an experienced and dedicated lecturer at the University of Malaysia Sabah (UMS) who is particularly interested in wood chemistry and wood technology and industry. Throughout her 17 years in academia, she has committed herself to fostering her students' intellectual curiosity and critical thinking. She received her doctorate (PhD) in the industrial chemistry field from the University of Malaysia Sabah (UMS) in 2023. To finish her dissertation work, she published three (3) Scopus journal papers and two (2) proceedings. Her studies concentrate on examining the main compounds found in wood and plants. She has significantly advanced the field through a FRGS research grant named "Chemical constituents and anatomy structure of wood, bamboo, and rattan." Moreover, one of his best-known publications is "Chemical functional groups of extractives, cellulose, and lignin isolated from native Leucaena leucocephala bark."
