Christie Pei-Yee Chin is a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Computing and Informatics at the Universiti Malaysia Sabah. She received her doctoral degree in Information Systems from the University of South Australia. Her research interests include enterprise social networks, public social networks, social analytics, knowledge management, fake news, entrepreneurship, and technology adoption and usage. Her work has been published in various international journals, such as Information Systems Frontiers, Internet Research, and Journal of Organizational Computing and Electronic Commerce, as well as proceedings of conferences such as AMCIS and PACIS.
Her IT academic journey and research interests in Information Systems have laid a foundation for her to be a passionate technopreneurship educator. Dr Christie is on a mission to empower the next generation of innovators and change-makers. In her teaching, she encourages her students to question, experiment, and innovate because the technopreneurs of tomorrow need more than just technical know-how. These future technopreneurs need the ability to think critically, solve complex problems, and envision solutions that contribute to a sustainable and socially responsible future.
