Dr. Wong Sing Yun

Wong Sing Yun, PhD, is currently a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Business, Economics and Accountancy, Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS). She holds a PhD in Planning and Development Economics, a Master’s degree in Economics, and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Mathematics with Economics from Universiti Malaysia Sabah.Her research interests include development planning and policy, education economics, healthcare economics, demographic economics, and sustainable economic development. She has been involved in various research projects funded by agencies including the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia, Sabah Tourism Board, National Commission for UNESCO Malaysia Grant, Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) and Universiti Malaysia Sabah. She also served as the Lead Impact Evaluator (East Malaysia) for the Impact Evaluation of Food Security Projects under All-Party Parliamentary Group Malaysia on Sustainable Development Goals (APPGM-SDG). She was a Research Fellow under the Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) Fellowship Program 2025. In addition, she serves as Associate Editor for Cogent Economics & Finance (Taylor & Francis) and SN Social Sciences (Springer Nature). Her academic interests focus on contributing to research and knowledge development in economics, policy, and sustainable development.
