Dr. Marcela Pimid is a senior lecturer at the Institute for Tropical Biology and Conservation, Universiti Malaysia Sabah. She holds a Ph.D. in Rural Planning/Environment from Universiti Sains Malaysia. She actively participates in nature conservation, community-based tourism development, and stakeholder management. Her expertise is advanced quantitative analysis, qualitative methods, and mixed-method research. She leads projects that connect local native communities in Sabah with international-based tour operators. She aspires to work closely with relevant stakeholders and researchers to integrate interdisciplinary studies about sustainability, human values, and socioeconomic development to deliver better outcomes to society.
